Shock Continuum | Sara Crager |

4/29/24

Sara Crager’s talk on shock from TBS24. Shock isn’t about hypotension, it’s about hypoperfusion. While we know this in theory, we don’t do a great job of applying it in practice. In order to move beyond our reliance on blood pressure to recognise shock at the bedside, we need to stop thinking about shock as a diagnosis and instead think about it as a continuum.

Sarah Dr. Crager is dual-trained in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and splits her clinical practice between the emergency department and the surgical intensive care unit. She is an assistant professor at the University of California Los Angeles. Do not miss Sara’s absolutely brilliant educational site for a version of this and many other talks: https://icuedu.org/.
